Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies:

*Framework for teaching and learning

Focus Literacy Lessons-  Encompasses focused mini-lessons based on student needs, curriculum, and the Common Core Standards.   These literacy mini-lessons are a combination of comprehension skills, accuracy skills, fluency skills, expanding vocabulary/word decoding skills, and writing skills. 

*whole group mini lessons 

Guided Reading-  Encompasses a small group setting focusing on targeted reading skills as needed by each student, while the rest of the students are working on a literacy assignment with partners or independently.  

Reading Intervention:  Encompasses a small group or one on one (teacher/student) targeting specific word attack/reading skills needed by the student(s). 

Math-  Encompasses a mini-lesson of targeted math skills, student practice/problem solving, math fluency and math talks.
