Mrs. Vanessa Medina

Hello, and welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Vanessa Medina, and this is my fourth year teaching here at Shull School. In 2022, I graduated from Kean University with my BA in Bilingual Elementary Education K-6 and middle school math endorsement 6-8. 

I am a Perth Amboy resident who was raised here, and actually went through the Perth Amboy school system from pre-school all the way up to High School. I graduated from Perth Amboy in 2016, and the minute I went off to college I knew I wanted to give back to my community. I honestly had amazing teachers here in this city growing up who inspired me to become a teacher myself. My reason for coming back home to teach is simply for one reason: I want to truly inspire students to reach for the stars. They have dreams greater than one could ever imagine, and as a teacher, if I could help them feel confident enough to take that first step ... then that's all that truly matters. 

Growing up, my mother always told me "Siempre te apoyare pase lo que pase (I'll always support you no matter what)." As I get to know your child, I'll make sure to support them in my classroom as much as I can to gain that confidence! I look forward to an exciting new school year!
